Over 19 million people in Indonesia are unable to fulfill their food needs due to food insecurity and poverty. During the economic crisis and the uncertainty, the underprivileged communities are struggling to settle their finances. The intention is for catering their family’s necessities.
Business sectors that are not included in the essential and critical categories are subject to Work from Home (WFH), shopping centers and public facilities are limited in their operating hours. It is undeniable that the pandemic has an impact on the lower middle class. Their income is reduced. Due to unsettled income, food as a basic need can not be guaranteed. Most of the time, they are starving, while their children are experiencing malnutrition. One of the support we can do is by providing food assistance.
Responding to the hunger issue, ACT initiates food aid to aim for fulfilling the basic needs of underprivileged communities. With the Free Food Operation (Operasi Pangan Gratis) program, food assistance will be provided through:
Warteg Gratis (Local diner free food)
In collaboration with local diners, ACT distributes ready-to-eat food for communities affected by the pandemic. Indirectly helping to move the business of the small micro entrepreneurs.
Armada Makan Gratis (Free food fleet)
Humanity Food Truck, Food Van, and Food Bus are humanitarian fleets that can provide a minimum of 1000 servings of ready-to-eat food.
Operasi Beras Gratis (Free rice program)
Distributing 5 kg of rice packages for people in need.
Let’s provide food aid for underprivileged people, as we fulfill their basic needs.
