Qurbani means sacrifice. Every year during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, Muslims around the world slaughter an animal – a goat, sheep, cow or camel – as a worship to reflect the Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail, for the sake of Allah (God).
At least one third of the meat from the animal must be distributed to poor or vulnerable people.
ACT with Global Qurban as an institution that manages the process of the slaughtering and the distribution of qurban to reaching underprivileged communities in poor areas in Indonesia and also in overseas countries as they are struggling with food insecurity.
The main benefits from performing qurban is:
To show gratitude to Allah Swt. for His blessing given to our life.
Follow the precept of the Prophet Ibrahim -khoilullah (Allah's beloved)-Alaihis Salaam, who was commanded by Allah Swt. to sacrifice his beloved own son, Ismail Alaihis Salaam, as a ransom in the day of An Nahr (Eid ul Adha). This history has become the reference for every Muslims to stay patient in worshiping Allah, and that they have to place the love for Allah above all human lusts (Al-Mausuah Al-Fiqhiyah, 5:76).
Qurban is better than sadaqah of money in worth of the animal price itself. Ibnu Qayyim uttered, "the slaughtering in the glorious time is way better than the sadaqah in worth of the price itself. So when people spending their money for sadaqah to substitute his obligation to qurban in the moment of Hajj, whether it is tamattu or qiron, even though the amount of the money is doubled, it is not equal as the merit of the udhiyah itself. (Talkhish Kitab Akhamil Udhiyah wadz Dzakaah, page 11-12 and Shahih Fiqh Sunnah, 2:379).
Qurban is presented to reach the piety to achieve sincerity and our piety in worshiping Allah Swt.
Let’s perform your Qurban with ACT to reach a wide range of beneficiaries.
