Disaster Response

For 16 years, ACT Foundation has been at the forefront of giving emergency assistance during and after the local and global disaster.

ACT Foundation was established as a lesson of the devastating 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake and Tsunami. During the catastrophe, no organization was engaged in emergency response, eventually causing more than 250,000 people to die and destroying all infrastructures (except one Masjid).

Since 2005, ACT (Aksi Cepat Tanggap, meaning ‘Quick Response’) Foundation puts significant efforts to become expertise in giving immediate response to emergency situations, such as natural disasters, war and conflicts, as well as aggressions.

Our focus starts with our home; Indonesia, located in the ring of fire, stands at the meeting point of the earth's active plates, and the geographical contours, is consistently threatened by volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, and floods year after year. In a year, we have responded to 1,000 disasters and successfully assisted 227,000 the affected.

Our emergency response includes performing first aid and medical services to the injured, evacuating casualties, tracking dead victims, and fulfilling the basic humanitarian needs of the survivors. But instead of leaving them afterwards, through our post-disaster recovery programs, we choose to rise side by side. We build community shelters and medical clinics, support livelihoods, establish livestocks, along with constructing places of worship (Masjid).

On a global scale, ACT Foundation also takes part in vulnerable countries namely Palestine, Bangladesh, Syria, Yemen, and Africa.

We strongly believe emergency response is crucial to everyone’s survival. We strive in critical moments and your support plays a huge part. Save and relieve lives with ACT Foundation!
