A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck the western coast of Sumatra island, Indonesia on Friday morning (02/25). The earthquake that epicenter in 12 km from the West Pasaman Regency at a depth of 10 km, was shaking buildings in Singapore and Malaysia as well.
Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), there were 7 aftershocks reported since the first shock. The disaster severely damaged residents' houses, public facilities such as schools, mosques.
Authorities and local health centers reported at least 6 people died and 20 were injured. The total number of affected residents is still being updated.
